Boatloads of scoop

E! Online’s Kristin Veitch reported a few interesting things yesterday.  Here’s the rundown:

Max Greenfield (Deputy Leo) and Kyle Secor (Jake Kane) will be back on Veronica Mars, probably for the season finale.  Let’s hope it’s not the series finale!  (Max is also on Ugly Betty as Wilhemina’s new assistant.)

Speaking of which, Kristen Chenoweth (Glinda!) will be appearing in the season finale of Ugly Betty.

Sara Ramirez might not return to Grey’s Anatomy next season.  Sounds like a big ol’ divorce for Callie O’Malley.

Brian Friedman is not planning to appear on So You Think You Can Dance this summer, dangit.

Constance Zimmer (Dana) will reappear on Entourage.

Most importantly, Kristin’s reporting that Friday Night Lights will return next season.  Of course, nothing’s official yet, so I’ll wait to hear it from Jeff Zucker.

Say it ain’t so, Vince

So, I haven’t written anything about the Entourage finale yet. That’s because I’m upset. I know that this is just television, and that Vince and Ari will probably get back together in the next season. Or, who knows, maybe it’ll take all season for them to rejoin forces. It’s just so painful! The Piven was amazing in this episode, I was almost in tears. Other thoughts: Manager E was really acting like Vince’s manager instead of a friend — Vince’s or Ari’s — and it was a little painful to see. I’m so sick of Vince and his principles, and his little hissy fit over not getting an apology quickly enough. Ari fucked up, sure, but he also stood by Vince through the Warner Bros. fiasco and the Queens Blvd. mess. Surely that should buy the guy a little understanding.

Here’s a little gossip for next season: Meadow and AJ from The Sopranos may guest star. Leslie Bibb (Talladega Nights) will, too.

Prison Break and more

Fox is offering free streaming video of new Prison Break and Bones episodes on affiliate websites. Speaking of Prison Break, they killed Veronica! HOORAY! I loved Robin Tunney in Empire Records (“oh Rexy, you’re so sexy!“), but she was insufferable on Prison Break, and I’m not sure whether to blame the actress or the writers.

As long as I’m thinking about TV, a few more comments: I’ve read some complaints about this season of Entourage, but I still love this show. Poor screwed-over Turtle! Poor misguided Vince! And thank goodness Drama finally got a job. Can’t wait to see Ari scramble to get Vince’s movie back next week.

I’m still reeling that Allison got booted off of Project Runway. It reminded me of what Tim Gunn said while kicking Keith off the show, something along the lines of “Project Runway is nothing without its integrity.” Guess what, Tim: it just lost all its integrity. It’s like the idiot editors think that viewers find Vincent entertaining to watch — but he’s not, he’s just creepy, and all his clothes look like shit. At least Michael Knight is finally getting some screen time; he’s by far my favorite designer.

Mandy Moore’s gonna wreck you!

We saw it on Entourage, and we’re seeing it again now: Mandy Moore will rip your heart out and stomp all over it.

Tubey Awards voting now open!

The ballots have been finalized, and voting for Television Without Pity‘s Tubey Awards is open here. (You must be registered on the forums to vote.)

I had a lot of fun with this, since unlike the Emmys, tons of great shows were nominated: Veronica Mars, Lost, Battlestar Galactica, Scrubs, The Office, Grey’s Anatomy, Arrested Development, Entourage, So You Think You Can Dance, Project Runway, The Amazing Race … also, my pick for worst character? Marissa Cooper, The O.C. Good riddance, Coop!
