George Michael Bluth has a really good agent

Arrested Development‘s Michael Cera stays really busy. When he’s not filming one of his many upcoming movies, he and his friend Clark make funny videos and post it on their MySpace page. Now, CBS has offered the boys a development deal to make content for their Innertube web channel.

He’s only EIGHTEEN. He should be out screwing up his life with Lindsay Lohan and the gang, not making business deals! Such a wunderkind.

Bridget Jones’s Diary, Part III

November 27, 2006 at 11:51 pm | Posted in Movies | Leave a comment

I’ve been anxiously awaiting news of a new Bridget Jones’s Diary novel, so every so often I’ll do a Google search.  Today: jackpot!  Apparently Helen Fielding will be flashing forward ten years for the next book, and Bridget will be a mom!

Note to Ms. Fielding: If DANIEL CLEAVER is the damn father, or worse, if Bridget and Mark do not END UP TOGETHER, I will punch someone in the FACE.

Anyway, supposedly they’re already planning the third movie as well.  I hope it’ll be better than Edge of Reason; that movie sucked hardcore.

Veronica Mars and the Case of the Missing Episodes

November 27, 2006 at 11:44 pm | Posted in TV News, Veronica Mars | 1 Comment

By now everyone’s probably already heard that Veronica Mars got a full season pickup (yay!) … but for only twenty episodes instead of the usual twenty-two.

I choose to believe this is because of The CW’s dire financial straits, and not because of a lack of support. But sometimes I like to delude myself. Oh well, at least the writers have a whole season to get Logan and Veronica back together, since they’re totally breaking up soon. Lame.

Hey, we get to find out who the rapist is tomorrow!  I’ve never been so jazzed about sexual assault!

Where have I been?

So, I haven’t been updating, and I have no good excuses. Well, one excuse: I’m in grad school right now and it is kicking my ass. Another excuse is Thanksgiving. But those aren’t really good excuses. And there’s so much I’ve longed to comment on … the new Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix trailer … Veronica being bitchy to Logan on Veronica Mars … Matt Saracen asking JULIE OUT ON A DATE on Friday Night Lights … Britney divorcing! Tom getting married!

By mid-December I’ll be back to my old self, and with Veronica Mars going into reruns next week, I’ll have time to get caught up there as well. In the meantime, please accept my apologies for being a crap blogger.

I heart NBC

For now, anyway … Friday Night Lights got a full season pickup!

Veronica Mars got picked up for three more episodes! Um, I guess that’s sort of good news. I’ll do the Veronica Mars posts soon, by the way. I’m just trying to find the time. Next week’s episode looks insane!

Gypsy, I am here for your tears

Borat was awesome, but you don’t need me to tell you that, because I’m sure everyone else is. But I will pass on an amusing link — it’s hilarious how the media is all of a sudden acting like Sacha Baron Cohen’s this total media recluse, like, “who’s the man behind the legend?” If they’d been paying attention the last three years, they’d know that Baron Cohen usually does interviews as himself, and this whole Borat 24/7 thing is just another publicity stunt for the movie.

Anyway, I was amazed at how well the movie turned out. They found a good narrative to tie the story together, and the schtick never got old to me. I guess this makes Baron Cohen the new king of comedy, when you consider that he also had a huge role in Talledega Nights.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that (part trois)

Now DOOGIE is gay?? Apparently I need to purchase a gaydar from Sharper Image, because I keep getting caught off-guard here. While I’d never support staying in the closet (be who you are, Doog!), career-wise, it’s probably smart that he stayed quiet as long as he did, since now he’s got the role of a lifetime as mega-hetero Barney on How I Met Your Mother.
